Swim Meet 101
(The Sharks Computer Director will email to the visiting teams Computer Director an updated version on the Monday before the meet)
The Shark tank is located at 7801 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA 95610. Parking is available in front (facing the street) and there is a larger parking lot in the back, with access to neighborhood street parking. Please do not block driveways, cars will be towed at their own expense. In the event both lots fill, you can park at the bowling alley but ONLY along the fence facing the park district; otherwise, you could be towed if you park anywhere else in the parking lot. The front lot is circular, so you can drive up to the pool entrance, unload, and leave to park the car. Sunrise swimmers check-in at 6:45 am; meet begins promptly at 8:30 am!
The Visiting Team area is the grassy area, outside the pool area, between the dive tank, back parking lot and the park offices. It is quite shady, so popup shade requirements are limited.
We have an 8-lane pool with a Time Drops Wireless Timing System. Timers will move to the other end of the pool for the 25-yard events, so the swimmers will start off the blocks. We run all 8 lanes and score all 8 lanes in the first heat. We also have a dive pool that will be used for warm-ups and cool downs only. The pool has covered bleachers for spectators. Restrooms are inside the pool area. We ask that no one set up in the red area on the pool deck. No umbrellas or pop-ups on the pool deck as it restricts the viewing for people in the bleachers. Pop-up are on deck for our coaches, computers, and starting area only.
We will have a snack bar with breakfast, lunch & snack items. Hospitality services will be provided for volunteers, including coaches & team parents.
The Visiting Team’s meet entries and roster are due to the Sunrise Sharks Computer Director by 8:00 pm Thursday. We will run 2 heats of 100 Free and 100 IM. Only 1 heat of relays so you can have 4 relay teams. Feel free to include your Team Records File for MM. Sunrise will seed the meet Thursday evening and send meet manager backup late Thursday evening, no later than 8:00 am Friday morning. If you have any scratches or changes that come in on Friday, send them to the Computer Director to reduce the amount of scratch on Saturday morning. Any changes after 6:00 pm on Friday will be handled through scratch on Saturday morning.
The Sharks Volunteer Coordinator, Annie Perkins, ([email protected] or call/text 916-500-1308) is available for questions. Standard volunteers are needed for visiting team. Ribbon labeling will begin at shift 2, not shift 1. Ribbons will be inside the hospitality/snack bar room, with air conditioning.
Scratch for your team begins at 7:30 am on Saturday. First, we will scratch the swimmers that didn't show from the entire meet, make Relay changes and then reseed the meet. Adjust those heats that have a solo swimmer by bringing 2 swimmers down from the prior heat to swim with the solo swimmer if it’s not affecting the first heat. We are aiming to have the meet finalized by 7:50 am.
The Visiting Team’s warm-ups are from 7:45 am to 8:15 am. Stroke and Turn Judges and Timers meeting will be at 8:10 am, Team Cheers at 8:20 am and National Anthem at 8:25 am. Timers should be in their seats and the first 3 relay events should be at Ready Bench by 8:25 am. Meet starts promptly at 8:30 am.
We are a public pool and must be off the deck, bleachers and everything cleaned up by 2:00 pm. We will do flyovers for 50 yd + events. There will be no waiting or delaying the start for 9 and up swimmers, make sure they are at the ready bench in time for their events.
We will print Check In Sheets and Relay Meet Program for the Team Parents so they can begin marking kids and getting them organized for the relays. We will then print Meet programs for the coaches, ready bench and other meet officials, and lane timer sheets so the meet can begin at 8:30 am sharp.
Let your parents know that we use Meet Mobile and Meet Maestro and they can search for the meet name “Your Team @ Sunrise Sharks 2026”. The Time Drops PIN is 2026.
Please let the Sunrise Computer Director know how many copies of the Final Meet Program you will need for your coaches and if you will need final copies of the Meet Check-in Sheets and/or a Relay Only program (separate pages per event) for your Team Parents.
Ribbon labeling will be in the snack bar room, with air conditioning. Labels will be brought up during shift 2.
