The Sharks Coaching staff is so excited to have you back in the pool! Our Shark Family is growing, and we want to welcome all our families on deck! Please remember

The theme for the week is hard work. Most of us have been out of the water for a long time, so it may feel like we can't do that much. But we can!! I believe in each and every one of you.

Every Monday we will meet at the Dive Tank bleachers to talk about the week ahead and answer any questions. This week we will focus on back stroke in preparation for Time Trials. Let’s get focused.

Team Suit Ordering:

Bulk ordering is happening NOW. This means you get a discount on shipping & your order arrives before Time Trials. Bulk ordering ends Monday April 6th at 11pm so make sure you get your order in before then! If you need help with sizing, we’ll be available at Monday’s practice to assist. All orders will be delivered to the team and dispersed at practice. If you order after the bulk ordering, you can choose your own shipping speed/cost. Our store is open all season.

*Per NCSL bylaws, there are strict rules on suits for females & males during competition. Sunrise’s team stores thru Agon & Swimoutlet do comply with the rules. If you have questions, please reach out prior to purchasing a suit outside of either of Sunrise’s team stores.

Applebee’s Breakfast Fundraiser:

This is our first fundraiser to kickoff the season and we need your help to make it successful. Our older Sharks will be serving food and we’ll have pictures to color to hang at Champs. Grab the family and friends to enjoy a shark-tastic breakfast!

Tickets are $15 each, for all ages-senior & children, and must be purchased in advanced. Ticket includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, and orange juice/coffee/soda. Tap here for tickets.

Team Parents Needed:

We are still in need of team parents for:

If we don’t get a team parent for 11/12 boys, they will not have a team tent. This means swimmers will need to stay in their parents tents, and parents are responsible for ensuring swimmers have their events and get to the ready bench on time, while still fulfilling the volunteer requirement.

Officials Needed:

If you’re looking to learn more about all things swim, becoming an official is a great way to go! We need Stroke & Turn Judges, Starter, Deck Ref and Computer/Timing. If you’re curious to learn more, we have a clinic on Wednesday April 29th, 6:30pm at your very own Shark Tank. When volunteer jobs open, please add yourself to the job at Time Trials and attend the clinic.

Sharks DJ:

Our awesome DJ is retiring and looking to train someone new! This position would cover the volunteer requirement and you would be needed for all home meets, team socials, and Champs.

Volunteer Jobs:

All jobs open Monday April 6th at 8pm, this includes lap counters for Shark-a-Thon. All families will need to signup for five shifts, at five different events. PLEASE signup for a shift at Time Trials. This meet is only us, that means we have to fill every job ourselves instead of sharing it with another team.

If you’re interested in trying an official position, please signup for a shift at Time Trials. Since it’s only our team, this is the perfect chance to try it out, learn and see if you like it for the rest of the season. If by chance the officials job is full, please reach out to Annie so you can be manually added.

Parent Lap Swim:

Parents who registered, are welcome to start getting laps in! A lane will be available during first & third practice, please check with Coach to find out if the parent lane is in the dive tank or comp pool.

Board Meeting:

We promise it won’t be boring…Our next parent board meeting is April 16th at 6:30pm in Rusch Room 1, located to the left of the gym. We welcome all Sharks to attend.

Starter Practice:

If you need to miss a practice, please pick another day than Thursday April 30th. This is a much needed practice, especially for new swimmers, to experience the Deck Ref & Starter. This loud buzzer can be scary for new swimmers and taking directions from someone besides their coach can be different. The Starter practice is to help new swimmers adjust and for returning swimmers to practice official starts.
