Coaches Corner:
Last home meet coming up! This week was light on attendance but I was able to see the great improvements you are all making! I am so incredibly proud of all the hard work you all do! This week our theme will be joy. Does swimming bring you joy? Does practice bring you joy? Does competing bring you joy? Does seeing your teammates do well bring you joy? It brings me great joy to see you train hard and compete to the best of your ability. For me it isn't about how much time you drop or how many races you win, or even if we win a meet. My joy comes from hearing that first buzzer at a meet and seeing tiny people dive into the pool. That eruption of noise from the crowd is amazing and I know that it means we are about to put on display all the work we've put in. Thank you for allowing me to have that joy during my first season with the Sharks!

- Board nominations are still being accepted & needed, until Wednesday July 9th. Please tap here for more information.
- Morning Practice is Tuesday & Thursday 8am & 8:45am, or stay for both sessions. Lanes have been adjusted to help swimmers get a better workout and help with technique.
- Three weeks until our parent relay shows off their skills at Champs! Parent lap swim is dependent on lane availability during both morning sessions and all three evening practices.
- Champs jobs open Monday at 6am! Reminder, you need TWO shifts, but if you ONLY have a 6U-they only swim Saturday. One shift per day, if you signup for two on the same day, you will be removed and placed on another day. You may not like the shift or “all the good jobs are gone” so please select your own choice correctly. If you have questions or need help, reach out to Annie.
- Saturday is the ‘FEC & Sunrise Annual Chili Cookoff’ and we still need a couple more entries from our team. If you can help us take back our first place title, join the fun! Last year the stingrays really earned the win with that brisket chili & cornbread, but we got this Sharks! Please contact Summer at [email protected].
- Our last team social is Wednesday July 9th, join us for open swim, music, pizza, raffle prizes and fun! Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event for cash or card. Monday is the last day to preorder your Costco pizza, $3 slice or $20 whole. Please see Annie at Monday’s practice or text at 916-500-1308

- Has the season worn out your swimmers suit? No fear, Jolyn will be here! Parents prepare your wallet, or tell the grandparents, Jolyn will be at Saturday’s meet. Boy parents aren’t safe either, they’ll also have their Brolyn suits out, fun prints and unmatched quality for all!😁
- Are you missing stuff from a meet? Checkout the Sharks lost & found tub to see if your stuff has been missing you. As always, located in the caged area-behind the showers, and just outside our shed

Coaches Appreciation:
Coaches Appreciation Week is fast approaching and this week’s spotlight is on Coach Lexi & Coach Layla!
Both coaches started as baby Sharks, retired, are now sharing their skills as coaches, and both love backstroke😄 Some of Lexi’s favs are seashells, frogs, strawberry ice cream and she’s a great baker. Some of Layla’s favs are fidget toys, the color brown, fresh raspberries and can eat a lot of food in one sitting. You can read more about both coaches by tapping here.😁
