League Information
Sunrise Sharks Swim Team
is a permenant member of the Northern California Swim League, one of
the largest swim leagues in the area. For more information about the

Each swimmer is required to complete and turn in 2010
League Paperwork (PDF) to the
team, returning swimmers can turn league paperwork in with their
registration to the park district if it is more convenient. New
swimmers will also need to submit a copy of their birth certificate
along with the completed league form. This paperwork is in addition to
Park District paperwork and is required before your child can
participate in a swim meet. The
League By-Laws tell more about the league
organization and the rules that govern it.
Northern
California Swim League Rules
AGE GROUPS:
(6
& under), (7-8), (9-10), (11-12), (13-14), (15-18).
Your child's age on JUNE 15th will determine the age group in which
they will swim during the season.
RULES ON ELIGIBILITY:
- A swimmer in the
Northern California Swim League may workout with any type of team from
the end of the season up to February 1st. After this date, only high
school swimmers, water polo players, divers, or synchronized swimmers
may workout in the water until April 1st.
- For the period
commencing February 1 through March 31, an individual will be
ineligible if that individual participates in any swim practice at the
direction or supervision of any coach. "Direction" or "Supervision"
refers to any oral or written directions given by a coach to a swimmer
(exception, high school swimmers).
- After the League
starting date, a participant may not compete or workout with two teams
of the same nature.
- A swimmer who competes
in any swim meet (attached, unattached, unofficial, or official) after
February 1st up to the League start date is not eligible to participate
in the League (exception, high school meets).
- A COMPLETED LEAGUE
REGISTRATION FORM AND $10.00 PER SWIMMER MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE
LEAGUE 24 HOURS PRIOR TO SWIMMING IN ANY DUAL MEET. INCOMPLETE
PAPERWORK WILL RESULT IN EITHER A SWIMMER NOT BEING ENTERED (OR IF
DISCOVERED AFTER ENTRIES ARE COMPLETE, SCRATCHED).
- A swimmer must be
officially entered and compete in at least two Saturday dual meets to
be eligible to compete in the League Championships.
CONDUCT OF
SPECTATORS AND PARTICIPANTS AT MEETS
- A spectator, parent,
or Coach is not allowed to approach a stroke and turn official to
question a DQ. All inquiries must be directed only to the Meet Referee.
- Spectators at League
meets must remain in the bleachers or designated team area until the
meet is concluded.
- Smoking is prohibited
in the pool area.
MEET FORMAT
- SATURDAY DUAL MEETS
- CHECK-IN IS AT 6:45
A.M. SHARP!!!
- Dual meets will
promptly begin at 8:30 a.m. and be ending around 2:00 p.m.
- Saturday meets will
have one official heat for each event for all age groups. All other
heats will be considered unofficial.
- Teams may enter
three official entries (relays and individual) in each event, unless
both teams prior to seeding agree to an increase.
- A swimmer may be
entered in any three individual events and two relay events per meet.
- LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
MEETS
- Championships will
be held on a Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th at Roseville
Aquatics Complex. The Coaches will determine individual and relay event
entries.
